Our Most Common Questions
Does it REALLY work?! — YES! We have over 200,000 happy customers to prove it.
How LONG will it last? — We GUARANTEE our pads for the life of your vehicle.
The concept behind our pads is simple once you understand the underlying problem.
The Problem
Back in 2009, we discovered why these remotes stop working. The rubber buttons on this generation of GM remotes literally wear down over time.
After about two years of regular use, the backs of the rubber buttons lose their conductivity. When that happens, the remote stops responding — even though the circuit board is still fine.
This is our pad inserted inside the remote. Once installed, simply snap the remote closed and all buttons will work again.
The Solution
After several early prototypes in 2010, we developed the design we still use today: a simple, durable pad with high‑tech conductive buttons that sits directly on top of the circuit board.
When you press a button, it now activates the new conductive pad, which then makes perfect contact with the board. Our buttons are rated for 1,000,000 actuations — in other words, they are guaranteed for life.
Secondary Problem: Loose Battery Holder
Another common issue with these remotes is a loose battery holder. The three solder points can weaken over time, causing the remote to lose power intermittently.
With a basic soldering tool, this repair can be completed quickly and securely, restoring proper power to the remote.
